Welcome to the home page of ABTUK.
Associated Baton Twirlers UK is an association for Baton Twirlers nationwide.
ABTUK was formed in 1990 and is managed by an executive committee of 9 members who are supported by a team of technical advisors, teachers and judges.
The aim of the association from the onset was to promote the sport of Baton Twirling nationally. To teach girls and boys in all aspects of Baton Twirling to its highest standard in all age groups and to unite its members an a friendly and competitive atmosphere.
We have a comprehensive rule book which continues to form the basis of the association.
We currently hold 5 competitions per year. Each competition consists of both individual and team events. Our Solo Twirl event is split into 4 ability groups - Beginner, Novice, Intermediate and Open. Other events are split into 2 ability groups - Beg/Nov and Int/Open. In addition we also include various competition aspects aimed solely at the less experienced twirler.
Every December we hold our Annual Presentation / Christmas Dance, where overall perpetual awards for twirling are awarded. A great time is had by everybody.
We have now introduced a comprehensive Grading Syllabus which is available to all our members.
ABTUK also sanctions training seminars throughout the year, open to all its members covering different aspects of twirling and dance.
Our Qualified Teacher/Judge training course is becoming increasingly popular, producing the next generation of Teachers and Judges to assist the Association in growth for the future.
